Rental Incentives for Landlords

As one of many of the Neighborhood Center’s housing stabilization services, we participate and facilitate a Rapid Rehousing government program.

Through this program since 2020, 100 households who would have otherwise found themselves in a continued state of homelessness have been placed in stable living environments.

The program is designed to help these individuals and families with a hand-up, not just a hand-out. Clients must meet and maintain specific requirements and protocols to receive this assistance. Caseworkers work closely with each client through a mutually agreed-upon individual service plan. As clients progress through the program, the financial support is weaned-off to a point where they can become independent and thrive in lasting and sustainable living situations.

Due to the inadequate amount of affordable housing in West Volusia, the Neighborhood Center is reaching out to landlords to educate them about the program incentives.

These incentives include the first and last month’s rent as well as security deposits that do not need to be refunded. Other incentives are ongoing rental assistance, ready-to-rent, pre-screened and case-managed tenants, and assistance with utilities to qualified participants.

This housing opportunity is one of the many ways The Neighborhood Center works to stabilize our community and fulfill our mission of feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and preventing homelessness.
