Enjoy an inspiring meal and silent auction with friends and family while helping eradicate hunger in West Volusia by raising funds for The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia’s emergency food bank and daily food pantry.
Raise funds, awareness and combat hunger in West Volusia, with The Empty Bowls Project in DeLand!
Ticket holders come to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church from 5 – 7 p.m., Oct. 20, to choose from clay pottery bowls made by local professionals and amateurs, enjoy a soup dinner and take their bowl home as a reminder of those whose bowls are empty.
This inaugural breakfast tribute will honor 2018 “Love Local Award” recipients Ed and Pauline Lacey for their incredible support of The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia, thank the community, build awareness of The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia and its mission, and earn revenue for the organization with an annual tribute breakfast.
Registration is available online at www.lovelocalnhc.org and will be open until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19.

Cheri Haring and her crew are raising funds and awareness to combat hunger in West Volusia, with an ‘Empty Bowls Project’ on Oct. 20. All ticket holders will come to the Harwood Center at St. Barnabas Church from 5 – 7 p.m. to choose from pottery bowls made from clay by local professionals and amateurs, have a hearty soup dinner donated by local restaurants and community members, and take their bowl home as a reminder of those whose bowls are Empty.
All proceeds will be shared between Faith at Work of St. Barnabas Church and The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia.
Tickets are on sale now at The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia Thrift Shop (434 S. Woodland Blvd., DeLand) and at The Elusive Grape (133 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand) for “Wine to Water” – a popular fundraiser for The Neighborhood Center. Proceeds from each ticket sold for “Wine to Water” will go to The Neighborhood Center’s water fund to help prevent homelessness. Each ticket pays water bills for two families for a month.
The Wine to Water fundraiser will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, August 6, at the Elusive Grape. A limited number of tickets to the event are available for $100 each, and include food, wine, entertainment and five raffle tickets.
